Maryland GNCC The GNCC series went back to the scenic Wisp Ski resort in Maryland for the ninth round of the 14 race series. This race was also part of the AMA National Hare Scrambles series. Brian was pumped up for the race since he wanted to put in a strong ride and get the points lead back in the Hare Scrambles series. Brian was riding the 450 MXC on the rocky course, that was once again prepared by Bart from Powersports Grafx. Jason Raines grabbed the holeshot ahead of Kiedrowski and Watts. Rodney Smith soon caught up to the lead pack and Jason and Rodney took off in their own battle for the win and the championship. They swapped the lead back and fourth all day. Brian wasn't having as good as a day as he would of liked. He rode as hard as he felt comfortable but didn't take the chances he needed to to get up front. His lap times were consistent but slightly off the leaders pace all day. After their three hour battle Rodney Smith came out on top ahead of Raines. Steve Hatch hit the podium for the first time on his new team. Fourth went to Jenks followed by Blackwell, Andrews, and Kiedrowski. Nathan Kanney put in another strong ride and seems to be finding some consistency in the pro class and took eighth. He barely held off Scott Summers for the entire last lap. Randy Hawking rounded out the top ten, and Brian was back a few spots in 14th. |
