South Carolina After coming home for Easter Brian flew back out to Maxxis to pick up the box van and start his long road trip. He rode a local night moto in Atlanta on Thursday then headed north for the race. He found a good track right near the race and rode there on Friday then went to an open house on Saturday. The conditions were perfect once again in the Carolina's. Mike Lafferty got and early lead and kept it all the way to the end for his first GNCC win. Mike has been close a lot of times and usually gets to the lead early in the races. He has switched to the 400 this year and has looked really comfortable along with going fast. Robbie Jenks followed close to Mike all day and finished only a handful of seconds behind after a good battle with Jason Raines who got stuck in a mud hole on the last lap. Mike had a line though the mud hole he used every lap. On the last lap he barely made it through but Jason being on a 250 didn't think he would have any trouble but buried himself in the mud but held onto the final spot on the podium. Mike Kiedrowski is getting better at the GNCC's and finished fourth once again ahead of Andrews, Rodney Smith who smashed a pipe and had a long pit stop. Next was Barry Hawk, Randy Hawkins, Doug Blackwell, Cole Caukins who grabbed the holeshot, and Josh McLevy. Brian was next in twelfth. He got as high as fourth early but didn't feel good on the bike. He checked it out after and found out that his front wheel was messed up from hitting a tree at the last race, which he did again at this race. |
