Rhode Island Enduro

Brian decided not to go up to the Little Rhody so I went up with Drew Smith for the weekend.  I knew it was going to be very rocky from my last visit there so I practiced pounding rocks the week before the event.  Right off the start they tried to burn us in a check right off the road, which would be common for the rest of the day.  I zeroed the check-in and pinned it through the trail.  At one section there was a big rock garden with a bunch of guys stuck but I just went straight through the middle and aimed for the big rock to ride over.  It worked good and I ended up getting a two in that section with just two other riders.  I was riding strong and most of my test were on pace with Lafferty and Hawkins, which was much better than the last time I was up there.  Going into the last section I had third place as my own but I screwed it up by getting lost in the last test.  I was following trail and the trail turned left but I had my head down and was charging and blew the last section dropping me back to fifth for the day.  I would like to thank Drew, Jimmy, Milt and Doug for helping out with the great pit support.
