Ohio GNCC

There finally was some rain back east as summer turned to fall.  The race in Ohio was in great conditions with good traction, with a few mud bogs mixed in to keep everyone honest.  Fred Andrews usually gets hot at the end of the year and starts winning races.  This race was no exception and Fred led from the start.  The only time he surrounded the lead was on the third lap when Chuck Woodford charged through the field and caught up and passed Fred and led for a lap then Andrews made his way back into the lead and won the race by about thirty seconds ahead of Barry Hawk.  Barry was up front all day but never made the push up to Andrews and had to settle for second after having won the last race.  Mike Kiedrowski had another strong ride at the GNCC races and was the last rider up on the podium.  Woodford finished fourth, ahead of Rodney Smith.  Rodney still leads the points and now is 11 ahead of Andrews and one more ahead of Lafferty with one round remaining.  Hatch was sixth, Hawkins, then Lafferty, Jenks, and Blackwell.  Brian ended up battling with Cole Caukins for most of the day and finished right behind him in 13th.  Brian is still pretty sore from his crash at the last GNCC but is motivated for the Hare Scramble final next weekend in Indiana.  Shane Watts rode a couple of laps in the race and was well inside the top ten but his wrist is still getting sore on him so he pulled out early.  Wonka(Brad Wilscroft) came from down under for a couple of races but had some tough luck.  His rear disc came loose on his bike and was messed up so the animal took off his rear disc and finished the race without it.  Jason Raines was unable to attend the race this weekend.  He has been coming back good from his broken leg and went to a local race on the weekend off to get some seat time and some confidence but had a crash which resulted in a broken collar bone and will put him out of the year.
