Ohio Enduro 2000

Well after leaving Ohio for Idaho we had the pleasure of driving back to Ohio for the National Enduro.  With all the rain from two weeks ago during the Qualifier the traction was just perfect for the Enduro.  Brian had problems right off the bat with his computer sensor not picking up a signal.  That sent him into the first section blind and he ended up burning the first check that most zeroed.  Not to long after that he noticed water leaking out of the bike and saw that his base gasket had gone out and he was done.  I was riding very good and was on pace with Lafferty, Hawkins and Blackwell.  I am getting the hang of Enduro’s and timekeeping and went into most of the check-ins right at the top of my minute.  In Ohio there is some of the tightest woods riding of anywhere in the country.  We were running five to eight mile sections to the last loop where there was a twenty-four mile test.  I have ridden the race before and I remember it because there are some super tight sections and the whole thing is trees in your face.  I rode as hard as I could and ended up finishing third overall for the day behind Doug Blackwell and Mike Lafferty.
