North Carolina GNCC

After seeing rain in the area on TV for the week before it turned out to be perfect conditions for the race.  There was a long pause after the racers warmed up their bike a few or the bikes didn't start including Brian's.  Brian made a bunch of passes early especially on the grass track section and worked his way up to second by the pit behind Rodney Smith who put a good lead on the rest of the pack.  Fred Andrews got by Brian but Brian was happy to follow Fred since he usually works his way to the front by the end of the race.  It didn't happen like that on this day as a pack of riders caught up the Brian and Fred consisting of Jason Raines, Barry Hawk, Mike Kiedrowski, Robbie Jenks, and Mike Lafferty.  Brian tried to pick up the pace but hit a tree straight on in the sandy section near the river.  He hit a couple of bumps and accidentally pinned the throttle straight into a tree.  He knocked himself silly and hurt his wrist a bit but forced himself to get up quick and keep charging.  The pack of riders got away from him though and Rodney Smith held on for his first win of the season.  Jason Raines made his way into second while Lafferty kept up his string of good rides on the podium again.  Mike Kiedrowski, Robbie Jenks, and Fred Andrews freight trained for the rest of the race with Brian a little behind for seventh.  After the first three rounds Brian has two 7ths and a 4th and sits in fifth in the series.
