Idaho
Qualifier 2000 Brian was on the gas from the start up in Idaho. Also making his comeback was our dad, Big Al. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate like it normally does with its Friday afternoon showers. This year we were sucking some serious dust and it was hot. Brian won two special tests on Saturday and was just eight seconds back from Russ Pearson who won the day. I was a little farther back in seventh place for the day. Al made it to the halfway point and called it a day seeing no need to torture himself and to keep some energy to give it a go on Sunday. Our roommate Kirk Cote decided to race to see what we do and finished on Silver. G-Man had a good consistent ride and finished up the weekend in fifteenth right in there with the other top d-36 riders. Brian was second again on Sunday winning a couple more tests but couldn’t catch Russ for the overall. I got lost in the first test on Sunday. I saw a rider up ahead of me and got through his dust but he led me astray. For the rest of the day everything went well and there was some really good special tests as usual. After the event we went to the club campfire to see where the real action was and hung out with all the locals from the area.
