Colorado Hare Scramble Brian had to drive from South Carolina out to Colorado for the second round of the Hare Scramble series. He picked up Illinois Troy up from his trailer in well Illinois and headed west to Colorado. He got there a couple of days early and blew up my bike. The race course was a moto track with a small off road section that was supposed to be like a special test in Portugal with silty dusty corners. It was wide enough to drive a car around and had been watered a little. Ty Davis got into the lead early after winning the day before at the Hare and Hound in Utah. Local rider Matt Karlson was running second after passing many riders on the moto track on the first lap. Brian said he went into the whoop section and was bouncing around when Matt jumped six in and skimmed the tops for the rest of the whoops. Brian had a good battle with Russ Pearson and Fred Andrew going on. He said Russ would crash, then get back up and catch him going even faster and even more out of control. He said he saw Russ crash six different times but Russ came back to pass him each time. On the last lap Ty seized handing the win to local rider Matt Karlson. Russ was second followed by Brian. Fred Andrews and Destry Abbott rounded out the top five. After two rounds in the Hare Scrambles Brian leads Fred by a handful of points. Keep it up Brian! |
