'Powerband' Patrick Garrahan began riding at the age of twelve. Patrick rode occasionally until he was fifteen, when one especially sweet day of riding got him hooked. Since then he's been riding and racing as much as possible.  Patrick started going to the races with his dad, Big Al, winning many races while moving up the amateur ranks.  His first big national race was the 1993 Oklahoma four day ISDE qualifier, where he finished tenth overall, third in the 125 class, and qualified for the ISDE in Holland. In Holland, Patrick was the only member of the United States Junior Team to finish! Patrick has been to the ISDE eight times, finishing with four Gold Medals, three Silvers, and a Bronze.  He  won the D-36 Enduro Championship in both 1995 and 1996, and the D-36 Cross Country Championship in 2005. He has finished in the top five of the National Hare Scramble Series five times, and in the top five of the National Enduro Series three times.

After successfully avoiding a 9-5 job for 30 years, in 2003 Patrick bowed to pressure from friends and family and went to work for KTM North America. He is now the Regional Sales Manager for Northern California, Northern Nevada, and Alaska. He and his wife, Paige, live in Boulder Creek with their son, Owen, and daughter, Audrey. When he's not racing, riding, wrenching on bikes, or selling bikes, Patrick can be found playing soccer, jogging, and battling brush on his property.

In 2009, Patrick plans to challenge brother Brian for the District 36 championship, and race select AMA West Coast Hare Scrambles and WORCS races. Patrick will also travel to Mexico to race the sixth round of the World Enduro Championship! Check back in July for race reports and photos from Valle de Bravo, Mexico.
