"G-Man" Steve Silvestri G-Man actually started out as a football player. After High School he went to Chico State and discovered there was more to life than football- there were beer and girls too. He only lasted one semester until his parents found out what he was up to so he was shipped back home and went to work. He discovered motorcycles soon after and started riding and than shortly after started racing. He moved up the ranks in the D-36 Hare Scramble series until he reached his goal of being the champ in 1989. G-Man and his trusty 500 became a familiar pair on the racing scene and his personality made him a fan favorite. G-Man qualified for the ISDE in 1993 and rode the mud bath in Holland. He was the racer with the highest number to finish the event, and even finished the first day in the dark, but his will paid off with a bronze medal. G-Man kept riding but was seen a little less often and became known as Mr. February to those who knew him for his tendency to go racing at the big events when the conditions were wet. After the years past and the collection agency gave up on him for his debt owed on his last trip to the six days, G-man was off to the ISDE again in Portugal. This time he had some bad luck when a manufacturing mistake kept his gas tank from venting resulting in a DNF. He reimpounded though and got to finish out the event. More determined than ever G-Man came back to the ISDE in hopes of getting his gold in Spain and rode strong to finish on silver. Recently G-Man had a baby girl name Gabriela with his wife Christine and lives in Redwood City. To contact G-Man email- gsport91@aol.com |
